With Free Comic Book Day in the bag, it’s time to set our sights on Children’s Book Week 2015, which runs from today, May 4th, until Sunday, May 10th.
As some of you may or may not know, I’m a big believer in getting kids to read. There’s nothing I love more than seeing a kid sitting down with a book. Either one they’re reading themselves, or with a guardian. Some of my fondest memories as a child are the ones that include immersing myself in fictional worlds for hours on end. To me, there’s nothing like a good book, and that rings true just as much today as it did back then.
I love seeing kids read so much, that for the next 5 days I’m giving away 3 middle grade titles that I’ve written under the name of M.R. James (that’s Mr. James to you, bub) absolutely FREE over on Amazon.*
These titles include The Halloween Curse, Night of the Zombie, and Carnival of Terror!
They’re fun, fast reads with Goosebumps-like frights that I like to think teach kids about teamwork, and other valuable lessons they can carry with them, woven into tales of mystery and suspense. I cut my teeth on books like these when I was a child, and I’d like other kids to do the same, which is why I wrote them.
So head on over to the M.R. James Amazon page over the next 5 days to grab some free eBooks for your kids, and be on the lookout for more info coming soon on my next middle grade book, I Was A 5th Grade Superhero!
*if you don’t have a Kindle eReader and would prefer to read these titles on another device, send an email to jjmelzer(at)gmail(dot)com and I’ll be happy to provide you with an alternate file type for you to read.
