Wednesday Wildcard: The Ghost Hand

Okay, so things didn’t exactly work out as I planned this week. Last night on Twitter I mentioned that today’s post would feature an old family photo of a ghost hand. It does, but the quality isn’t as great as I was hoping. See, I had the pic all ready to go, pulled out of the family album, and went to scan it. Low and behold, some rabbits chewed through my scanner cord, rendering it inoperable. Seriously, my roommate has two rabbits. A white one and a black one. You can’t make this shit up, folks.

Anyway, I grabbed Jenny’s BlackBerry and took a picture of the picture, because I’m a man of my word and wanted to show you all this. As you may know, though, BB cameras aren’t exactly the greatest. Still…it worked.

You can see in the picture my mother and aunt. Beside my aunt is what looks to be a hand getting ready to tap her on the shoulder. See it? Click on the picture to enlarge it. Now, this pic has been in my family for over 40 years, and I’ve had it taken to folks to see if it was altered in any way. It wasn’t.

So there you have it, the mysterious ghost hand in the picture. What do you guys think? You can’t see it very well in this reprint, but you can actually make out bones in the hand. The index finger is pointing up, ready to tap my aunt on the shoulder. I’ll repost it once I get a new cord for my scanner of course, so you can see it better.

That’s it. That’s all I got. A fuzzy ghost hand in a fuzzy picture that wouldn’t scan because some rabbits chewed my cord. Man, you’d think I was snapping a pic of Bigfoot or something…
