The Brown/Dunwoody Zombie Flash Fiction Contest
Mister James | Jun 10, 2010 | Comments 2
Hey gang, listen up. My boy Corey Graham is holding a zombie flash fiction contest in
conjunction with two of the best authors of the genre right now, Eric S. Brown and David Dunwoody. They’ve both been UNLEASHED (Eric’s been on 3 times) before, so you should know who I’m talking about.
Here’s what you gotta do:
They want a zombie story from you. It has to be completely original, and be no longer than 500 words. Here’s a good article to help get you familiarized with flash fiction if you’re new to it.
Type it up, put it into the body of an email message (along with your name), and send it to: corey AT midnightcorey DOT com. Please put “Zombie Flash Fiction Contest” in the subject line. (DO NOT SEND IT TO ME, JAMES MELZER. IF YOU DO, I WILL LAUGH RIDICULOUSLY BEFORE DELETING IT)
All the entries will be read by Eric S. Brown and David Dunwoody, and they will decide on the top three stories.
The prizes:
- First Place: Bigfoot War by Eric S. Brown; Empire (first edition, signed) by David Dunwoody
- Second Place: How the West Went to Hell (signed) by Eric S. Brown; UNBOUND & Other Tales (signed) by David Dunwoody
- Third Place: Kinberra Down (signed) by Eric S. Brown and Jessy Marie Roberts
The three winners will also be read on an upcoming episode of Midnight Corey’s podcast. (NOT UNLEASHED)
The deadline:
Your entries must be received by 11:59pm on July 4, 2010. Say happy birthday to America by writing a 500-word zombie gorefest!
The contest has officially begun, so start writing! Multiple submissions are allowed (in separate emails, please), but please limit to 3 entries per person.
For the record, I’ll be reading one of the winning entries, so get writing, get submitting, and if you’re lucky, GET WINNING!

About the Author: James Melzer tells lies for a living, what more do you want?

Can I still enter even if you’re touching the entries with your vocal cords?
Yes, since I have nothing to do with the judging whatsoever
