Am I worth $0.99 cents?

Lately I’ve been thinking a great deal about making money from my writing. Yeah, I have sold three books to Permuted Press and yeah, the first one has been picked up by Simon & Schuster and will be coming to print in March, 2011…but that’s a long ways away. I won’t start to see any income from that until around August, 2011, if I make back my advance, that is.
In an effort to bring in a little extra cash flow (and when I say little, I mean little), I’ve decided to start selling some short stories on Smashwords, and directly here on my website. Why sell and not give away for free? Well, the way I see it, my time and creativity is worth money. Maybe not a lot right now, but surely it’s worth 0.99 cents, which is how much these short stories are selling for.
So if you agree, and want to support my work and creative endeavours, please, head on over to Smashwords and download a digital copy of my first short story for sale, called SNOWMEN, it can be found HERE.
A yearly display of snowmen brings joy to children all over Pennsylvania, but when builder Edgar Davies takes a tumble, his true secret is revealed.
If you’d like to buy it directly from me, and cut out the middleman, thus giving me your entire 0.99 cents, click the BUY NOW button below and I’ll send you a PDF of SNOWMEN directly to your inbox. Please specify in the PayPal notes that your purchase is for SNOWMEN.
Thanks for your support!

Ha! Thanks, John. YOU RULE!
Yes, you are … and frak the middle man, you should get every penny of it.
Thanks, Mike!
I don’t read white literature, but if I did I’d shell out the pennies.
Done and done. Worth every penny.
Damn skippy! I’ve already been to paypal and sent it your way.
Found you via Hutch on Twitter. I’ll roll the dice for .99. Cheers!
Thanks, Doc. Hope you dig the story
